I went to play some music on youtube the other day and I noticed that there was no sound from my USB speakers that also plug into the headphone jack. Sound was certainly not working after 1603 but before I did the huge 1609 update. I ended up installing 1603 as a standalone before installing 1609 through standard Windows updates. Microsoft say they are aware of the issue. Upon restart, the updates failed, had to be rolled back and then I became aware of the issue when I started looking into it. In my case, I hadn't initially noticed this and upon the download and install stage (whilst logged in), my laptop froze and I had to restart it. I'm not sure if anybody else noticed, if you hadn't downloaded/installed Windows Update 16, then 1609 was being downloaded and installed before 1603. I loosely attribute the time when my sound stopped working to some Windows Updates last week. I just wondered if anybody had any suggestions.
